What is the Mortgage Speakers Bureau?
It’s a one-stop shopping website for speakers who are:
- Currently in the mortgage business today
- Have been in the mortgage industry
- Not in the mortgage business but have intimate knowledge of the industry
In addition to finding the right speaker and the right topic for your audience, we co-ordinate the speaking contract between you and the speaker; co-ordinate travel and hotel; provide promotional materials for your audience and schedule pre-meeting conference calls to make sure the speaker is the right one for you.
How do I find a speaker?
You can search by speaker name, topic, price and location. An outline and bio of each speaker is provided and most of the speakers have a short video clip of their presentation style.
What should I look for when viewing the videos?
Since topics are modified for each audience—content is not as important when viewing the sample video. Look for
the speaker’s style, tone and overall delivery of the presentation to determine if it fits with your attendees learning styles.
Do I pay extra when I hire a speaker through the Mortgage Speakers Bureau?
No. The speaker pays a commission to the bureau for the work the bureau performs on their behalf. You pay for the speaking fee plus expenses.
What additional expenses should I expect to pay?
Expenses include airfare, hotel and meals while traveling to your location. If the event is within driving distance from their location to yours, mileage to and from the event will be charged.
How far in advance do I need to hire a speaker?
It is recommended that you try to book your speaker at least 90 days in advance. If possible, it would help to have
an alternative date for your meeting.
How do I reserve a speaker?
We will determine if the speaker is available on the date you requested. If they are, we will ask the speaker to HOLD the date for you. A Speaker’s Contract will be emailed to you. Once you sign and fax back the contract, 50% of the speaker’s fee is due usually within 30 days. The balance of the speaking fee and expenses will be invoiced prior to the event and we would ask that you have a check for the speaker the date of the presentation.
